Mannerström visits Johanna for the first time

Göteborgs-Posten recently covered Leif Mannerström’s first visit to Johanna since its opening. The restaurant, named after the classic Johanna he once ran together with Crister Svantesson in 1974, has now returned to the very same address – at the top of Södra Hamngatan 47.

The visit became a clear meeting between past and present. In the article, Mannerström reflects on the legacy and significance of the place:

“It’s sad that Crister passed away last year and didn’t get to experience this. But the entire block is named Johanna after the restaurant. This will live on. I think it’s fantastic,” says Leif Mannerström.

Göteborgs-Posten also highlights Johanna as a new destination in the city centre – a modern steakhouse with both dining room and bar, aiming to be accessible beyond just dinner service.

“We want everyone to feel that it’s easy to come here, even if it’s just for a drink in the bar,” adds Nora Juraskovic in the article.

Together, the piece paints a picture of a restaurant where history and the present meet – and where Johanna once again takes its place in Gothenburg’s dining scene..
